It's weighted amenities (by real walk-time and quality) multiplied by a neighbourhood factor and reduced by transparent penalties, out of 100. Every point is traceable in the 'Why this score' panel, and you can re-weight the categories to your own priorities.
It comes from the nearest live monitoring station via the World Air Quality Index. We show the station's distance and never display stale or far-away readings — if no live station is close enough, the panel is hidden.
